Rajasthan: Kirodi Lal Meena of the BJP Says Congress Betrayal Made Gurjar ‘Ghar Wapsi’ To The Party

The Gurjar community in Rajasthan, according to BJP MP Kirodi Lal Meena, has made a “ghar wapsi (homecoming)” to the party after its “big leader,” Sachin Pilot, was deceived by the Congress and did not become chief minister.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-283156″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-kirori-11zon.jpg” alt=”theindiaprint.com kirori 11zon” width=”1313″ height=”751″ title=”Rajasthan: Kirodi Lal Meena of the BJP Says Congress Betrayal Made Gurjar 'Ghar Wapsi' To The Party 9″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-kirori-11zon.jpg 696w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-kirori-11zon-150×86.jpg 150w” sizes=”(max-width: 1313px) 100vw, 1313px” />

Meena, the BJP candidate from Sawai Madhopur who is running against Danish Abrar, the current Congress MLA, also said that the Gurjar community felt “insulted” by the remarks made against Pilot by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.

The Rajya Sabha MP, who has led the BJP’s campaign against the Gehlot administration on claims of fraud over matters like exam paper leaks, also attacked the Congress for allegedly engaging in “unprecedented corruption” when it was in power in Rajasthan.

“Corruption has reached such extremes that you would not believe that 1 kilogram of gold and Rs 2.30 crore in cash were discovered in almirahs at a government building. There has never been anything like this in the history of the nation. Meena said, “Police and officers have looted the state and amassed large sums of black money.”

Meena refuted the Congress’ accusation in an interview with PTI that the BJP-led federal government had abused the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and other government organizations for political ends.

“All 16 exam papers have been leaked, and this is happening in Rajasthan.” I have provided proof of the fraud at Jal Jeevan Mission (in the state), the fraud in the mining industry, and the corruption in the Gehlot administration. I had insisted on a CBI investigation into these issues.

“As the government failed to commission a CBI investigation, the ED is the only agency authorized by the PMLA to pursue legal action against the black money collected,” Meena said.

“ED had already acted before to the elections. Why are you terrified, and why are you making a fuss, if you are not a thief? “This has no political overtone,” he said, slamming the Congress.

Meena said that he visited Ganpati Plaza in Jaipur, where 1,100 lockers containing illicit funds were discovered, and the Income Tax Department had discovered “till now Rs 36 crore and 22 kg gold.”

“Therefore, to disprove the political vendetta charge of the Congress, I only draw the attention of the government, be it the state or the central government,” he said, citing the examples of the arrests of four members of the Rajiv Gandhi Study Circle, the removal of the president of the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE), and member of the Rajasthan Public Service Commission Babulal Katara.

Meena remarked, “You caught the fish, but not the crocodiles, which is why we had to go to the ED.”

When asked about his previous comments that the Gurjar community will support the BJP in Rajasthan, Meena said, “It’s because of the betrayal of a big leader of the Gurjar Samaj, Sachin Pilot, who was promised CM status by them (the Congress) the last time but was betrayed.”

The chief minister of Rajasthan referred to him as a “traitor,” “nakara,” and “nikamma.” What insult hadn’t Gehlot directed on Sachin Pilot? Because of this, the Gurjar community feels belittled and would likely vote for the BJP, according to the 72-year-old BJP veteran.

The Gurjar community has always supported the BJP because of its “mindset,” but Meena stated that they chose Pilot in the hopes that one of their own would be the chief minister.

He said, “The Gurjar samaj made a ghar wapsi and is voting for the BJP because he (Pilot) did not become the CM and was betrayed.”

Meena said that the accusations made against the former chief minister were unwarranted when Pilot brought up corruption concerns about the previous Vasundhara Raje administration.

He said that the accusations were dismissed by the court as being unfounded.

“The accusations I made (against the Gehlot regime) are supported by proof, and the court also acknowledged one of them. Therefore, Meena said, Pilot Sahab made a token attempt that lacked substance.

In addition, Kirodi Lal Meena rejected the challenge from BJP renegade Asha Meena, who is running as an independent and claimed to be doing so at Chief Minister Gehlot’s request.

“There is no mention of the dissident candidate you are bringing up in the race. Ninety percent of the scheduled tribe (ST) voters support me, despite the fact that she has been implicated in a plot to deceive them, according to Kirodi Lal Meena.

“Asha simply has money; she does not have any votes. Therefore, she is spreading fake news to generate attention. He said, “She’s already been kicked out of the party.

Kirodi Lal Meena said Gehlot was using her contest as a pawn in a “conspiracy.”

“Kunj Lal Meena, her brother-in-law, is close to Gehlot, and they are conspiring together; her protesting doesn’t matter and she can’t do any harm,” Meena said.

The Rajya Sabha MP said that it was the party’s choice and that he was one of the seven MPs nominated in Rajasthan when asked whether the BJP had asked him to run in the Assembly elections.

“This is not a novel tactic. The party has brought me here because wherever a worker may win (the party fields that person), that is where I am,” he said.

When asked whether a Meena could become chief minister, he said that caste is not a factor in the BJP’s selection of chief ministers.

As someone who grew up in shakhas, I believe that working for the nation and society is more important than working for oneself. Our path’s goal is to build the nation, not to reach a destination, he said.

When asked whether he was one of the BJP’s prospective chief ministers, Meena said, “I’m not on the list. I’m 72 years old and almost ready to retire.

When asked whether Vasudhara Raje, the previous chief minister, was the favorite to become chief minister should the BJP win, Meena said, “I cannot say, the parliamentary board decides or the opinion of MLAs is taken and that time has not come.”

“I don’t believe the party is campaigning for any specific candidate; there is only one face, and that is Narendra Modi,” he said.

Known by nicknames like “Doctor Sahab” and “Baba,” Meena was first elected to the Assembly in 1985 while running on a BJP ticket from Mahwa in the Dausa district.

From 2003 until 2008, Meena served as a Cabinet minister in the Raje administration. 2008 saw him depart the BJP due to “differences” with her.

After his comeback to the BJP in March 2018, the party nominated him to the Rajya Sabha.

Meena has been conducting regular news conferences and making “revelations” concerning topics including question paper leaks from government recruitment exams, which she alleges were caused by Congress leaders’ collusion.

On November 25, Rajasthan will have elections, with results announced on December 3.
