Arriving in South Korea, Union Finance Minister Sitharaman begins a four-day visit there


Nirmala Sitharaman, the Union Finance Minister, arrived in South Korea on Tuesday for a four-day official visit.
Amit Kumar, the Indian ambassador to the Republic of Korea, met Sitharaman as she arrived at Incheon airport. The Republic of Korea has welcomed Union Finance Minister Smt. @nsitharaman for a 4-day official visit. When she arrived at the Incheon Airport this morning (KST), Shri @KumarAmitMEA, India's ambassador to the Republic of Korea, met her there, the Finance Ministry tweeted.
The 56th Annual General Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), as well as investor/bilateral and other related meetings, will take place in Incheon, a city in South Korea, from May 2–5, and Sitharaman will be leading an Indian delegation there, according to a statement from the Ministry of Finance.
The sessions will also be attended by official delegations from ADB member countries, observers, non-governmental and civil society groups, media, financial institutions, banks, and other private sector businesses.
Sitharaman will also take part in key annual meeting activities including the Governors' Business during her visit. According to the official statement from the Ministry of Finance, she will also participate in a panel discussion at the ADB Governors' Seminar on “Policies to Support Asia's Rebound.”
The Union Finance Minister's activities will include bilateral meetings with nations and international institutions as well as interactions with global economists, governors, and finance ministers of ADB member countries, among others.
She will meet with the community's Diaspora as well as participate in roundtable discussions with investors and business executives from across the world during her visit to South Korea.
