On May 9, Shah will go to Kolkata to attend a Tagore event


In order to attend a cultural event honouring Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore on May 9, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is planned to go to Kolkata.

According to senior BJP leader Swapan Dasgupta, Shah accepted an offer from the cultural group “Khola Hawa” (open air) to speak at the event on Tagore's principles.


Amit ji is inspired by Tagore's spirituality and philosophy. He will discuss Gurudev's impact on citizens of this nation throughout the years, according to Dasgupta, the head of the cultural group.

Numerous people connected to the group are BJP supporters.

Suvendu Adhikari, the head of the opposition in the West Bengal legislature, is also set to attend the event, according to BJP youth leader Shankudeb Panda, a member of the “Khola Hawa.”

According to Panda, the cultural body is in charge of organising the event; the BJP is not involved. Rituparna Sengupta, Somlata Acharyya, and dancer Tanusree Shankar are all anticipated to attend the event.
