<p>They reported that the event happened at 4 a.m. when a 150-meter-long section of the 4.5-kilometer-long tunnel gave way.</p>
<p>Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Dunda, Brajesh Tiwari said that Uttarkashi Superintendent of Police Arpan Yaduvanshi hurried to the scene and started a relief and rescue effort as soon as he learned about the event.</p>
<p>According to him, workers from the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), the company constructing the tunnel, as well as members of the National Disaster Response Force, State Disaster Response Force, fire department, and others are on the scene attempting to rescue the stranded laborers.</p>
<p>The Char Dham all-weather road project includes the tunnel. The 26-kilometer trip between Uttarkashi and Yamunotri would be shortened by its development.</p>
