<p>The governing BJP’s manifesto for the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, “Modi ki Gaaranti, Bhaajpa ka Bharosa” (Modi’s assurance, BJP’s trust), was launched today. <p>The BJP’s manifesto is a “sankalp patra,” or commitment document, according to BJP President J P Nadda, who made the announcement at an event this afternoon at the Kushabhau Thakre Convention Centre. In addition to a few additional assurances, it focuses mostly on twenty commitments.</p>
<p>According to Mr. Nadda, “the BJP is the only party that has brought this document to reality and made it a means to its roadmap.” “Reform, perform, and transform is our mantra for the welfare of the poor,” he said.</p>
<p>Among the 20 significant commitments are homes and a monthly income for the Laadli Bhana Yojana recipient women, employment or self-employment for one member of each household, founding of the MP Institute of Technology (modeled after IIT) and MP Institute of Medical Science (modeled after AIIMS); free education for all students from low-income families up to Class XII; five-year extension of the PM free ration scheme for the poor; introduction of the CM Jan Awas Yojana for housing the impoverished; procurement of rice and wheat at a rate of Rs 3100 and Rs 2700 per quintal from farmers; a healthy breakfast and midday meal in government schools; payment of Rs 12000 annually to farmers and Rs 4000 per sack to tendu leaf collectors.</p>
<p>In addition, the manifesto pledges Rs. 2 lakh to all women till they turn 21; a gas cylinder for Rs. 450; free education for girls from low-income families from kindergarten to graduate school; a pension of Rs. 1500 per month for elderly and handicapped people; 100 units of electricity at Rs. 100; and the building of six new expressways.</p>
<p>In addition, the BJP promised that the state government will add 2000 seats to medical institutions, hire more physicians and nurses to fill open positions, and pay treatment and medical costs above the Rs five lakh limit under the Ayushman plan.</p>
<p>With an emphasis on the state’s infrastructure and economic development, the BJP has promised to place MP among the top three economies in the nation, double the state’s per capita income in the next seven years, and bring in foreign direct investment (FDI) valued at Rs 20 lakh crore.</p>
<p>Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the chief minister of Maharashtra, attacked the Congress before the manifesto was made public. The Congress had questioned why the BJP was presenting its manifesto on “Narak Chaturdashi” day.</p>
<p>According to Mr. Chouhan, the Congress is ignorant of both Hinduism and Indian culture, history, and customs. According to the MP CM, Lord Krishna slew the demon Narkaasur on “Narak Chaturdashi” and freed sixteen thousand sisters from the devil’s servitude.</p>
<p>On October 17, the opposition Congress unveiled their manifesto.</p>
