<p>The Punjab police’s Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) said that this week, it conducted 179 intelligence-based searches throughout several districts in the Pakistani province of Punjab. Terrorists were so taken into custody.</p>
<p>The CTD said that it was able to foil a serious terror plot by apprehending the terrorist groups, the TTP and Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ), which were planning to attack important facilities and carry out sabotage across the province.</p>
<p>“Intelligence-based operations in Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Bahawalpur, and Rawalpindi resulted in the arrest of these terrorists,” the CTD said in a statement.</p>
<p>Approximately 0.5 kg of explosives, 2 hand grenades, 2 IEDs, 5 detonators, 13 feet of safety fuse wire, 3.5 feet of prima cards, and forbidden items were discovered from persons who were arrested.</p>
<p>The police have filed five complaints against the terrorists, and they have been taken to an undisclosed place to be questioned.</p>
