The situation in Gaza is becoming worse, and Israeli troops are stepping up their military effort to destroy Hamas. As a result, the UN Security Council (UNSC) is scheduled to convene another emergency meeting on November 6.

A representative for the UAE’s mission to the UN tweeted, “The UAE and China called for closed consultations to be convened tomorrow, November 6, at 3 p.m. in light of the worsening situation in Gaza and the attack on the Al-Shifa Hospital and repeated attacks on Jabalia refugee camp.”<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-270710″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-what-should-investors-do-now-that-cello-world-shares-are-listing-on-the-bse-at-a-2.jpg” alt=”theindiaprint.com what should investors do now that cello world shares are listing on the bse at a 2″ width=”1106″ height=”604″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-what-should-investors-do-now-that-cello-world-shares-are-listing-on-the-bse-at-a-2.jpg 304w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-what-should-investors-do-now-that-cello-world-shares-are-listing-on-the-bse-at-a-2-150×82.jpg 150w” sizes=”(max-width: 1106px) 100vw, 1106px” title=”UN Security Council to Discuss the "Deteriorating State of Affairs" in Gaza 6″>

Divisions inside the Security Council have kept the council from doing much beyond convening to discuss the conflict ever since it began. The UN Security Council convened an extraordinary meeting last Monday to examine the continuing situation in Gaza, after four attempts to find an agreement on a settlement. Members of the Security Council reviewed the crisis resolution passed by the General Assembly at the meeting.

“OUTRAGEOUS KILLINGS OF GAZA CIVILIANS”

The leaders of six humanitarian organizations and eleven UN agencies jointly demanded an urgent humanitarian cease-fire in Gaza in a statement released on Sunday night. They also referred to Hamas’s unexpected strikes on Israel on October 7 as “horrific.”

However, the leaders of the Inter-Agency Standing Committee on the situation in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territory said, “The horrific killings of even more civilians in Gaza is an outrage, as is cutting off 2.2 million Palestinians from food, water, medicine, electricity, and fuel.”

Hospitals are overloaded and over 23,000 wounded individuals need emergency care, according to the UN and humanitarian organizations. According to the joint statement, “a whole population is besieged and under attack, denied access to the necessities for survival, bombed in their homes, shelters, hospitals, and places of worship.”

“The highest number of United Nations fatalities ever recorded in a single conflict,” according to UN leaders, is the result of over 100 assaults on health care operations and the reported deaths of 88 staff members of UNRWA, the UN agency for Palestinian refugees.
