<p>Kharge also expressed his condolences for the deceased and bestowed upon the wounded parties a swift recuperation.</p>
<p>According to East Coast Railway authorities, on Sunday near Kantakapalli in the Vizianagaram district, the Palasa Passenger train struck the Rayagada Passenger train from behind, resulting in three coaches derailing and thirty fatalities and fifty injuries.</p>
<p>“Deeply saddened to hear of the tragic train derailment in Andhra Pradesh’s Vizianagaram district, where numerous people were injured and many precious lives were lost.” We send our sincerest sympathies to the deceased family. We hope the wounded people heal quickly,” Kharge said on X.</p>
<p>Additionally, he urged the partygoers to provide whatever assistance they could.</p>
<p>The Congress lawmaker made a jab at the governing BJP, stating, “It appears that the Union government’s assurances of safety following the Balasore train disaster have vanished completely.” Train safety and the welfare of millions of passengers each day should be prioritized with the same fervor that greets trains with pomp and propaganda.</p>
<p>A triple train collision in June resulted in a catastrophic disaster in Balasore, Odisha, that claimed 291 lives.</p>
<p>Rahul Gandhi, an MP and former president of the Congress, too conveyed his sorrow over the train catastrophe in Andhra Pradesh. “Angry at learning that a train accident in Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh, yesterday resulted in multiple deaths and injuries.” He posted on social media, saying, “I send my sincere condolences to the bereaved families and hope for a speedy recovery of all those who are injured.”</p>
<p>The Wayanad-based Congress MP from Kerala also exhorted party members in the area to provide the government all support possible with relief and rescue efforts.</p>
<p>Following the disaster of the North East Express train in Buxar, Bihar, the grand old party has urged that the federal government and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw be held accountable.</p>
