<p>According to Ramesh, after accounting for inflation, the bottom 25 percent of tax payers received less real income in 2022 than they did in 2019.</p>
<p>“From Rs 3.8 lakh crore in FY19 to Rs 3.4 lakh crore in FY22, the gross income of the bottom 25% decreased by 11%. The top 1%’s actual income increased by 30% from Rs 7.9 lakh crore in FY19 to Rs 10.2 lakh crore in FY22. Figures are reliable. Only the Prime Minister, he said, does.</p>
